Problem with Harbor Freight Belt Grinder

I checked it with four different belts, exactly the same thing. Im gonna try the tape tomorrow (to late today).

Did some grindin on it, and it worked. platen sucks, its not worth the 30 min drive to HF lol. I think the actual frame of the grinder is just warped. I tried scandi grinding on this, and its quite impossible. It runs too fast. Maybe w/ a ton of practice ill be able to do it, but otherwise, ill save scandi grinding for when I buy a better grinder. However, little guys runs well, and even w/ an 80 grit belt, no heat troubles at all as long as you keep moving the blade.

@John: There is absolutely no more adjustment room, the bar that tilts the adj wheel is up against the frame of the grinder.

dont adjust the wheel , adjust the platen to line up sqaure with belt , its just mild steel , bend it to line up with the belt , you may need to file the adjustment slots on the back of the plate ( lower part of the L bend ).

The way that looks until you get the edge of the platen squared up to the belt , adjusting the tracking isnt going to help.

see how the edge of the platen is not squared to the belt ? bend that sucker so it aligns , you will be much better off :)
