On July 17, I contacted Jim about buying his Strider SMF
On July 22, he said that he received my money order for $300
I have not received the knife and have not heard back from him
I have left him visitor messages and countless emails. He has not responded to any.
On top of that, if you look at his forum activity, he periodically comes online. He was last online on August 31.

I did not see anything wrong with sending him a money order. He has been a member since 2004 and has 100% feedback for 22 transactions.
I really hate to call him out like this but I feel as if I have no choice. Its been a month and a half since I've heard from him. $300 is a lot of money and I am not sure how to get it back/what to do.

Since he has been on the forum so long, maybe someone knows him? He is from Lakeland, Florida
I would appreciate any help or if anyone know how I should proceed from here
Thanks

I agree. A month and a half is way too long. Your thread is definitley justified.
Nothing worse than being ignored after seeing he has logged-on on numerous occasions.

lakeland isn't all that far from me, but i do not know the fellow...of course i'm new here, i've not been around since the early 2000's. have you tried calling him yet, to see what the hang up is about? if you don't have his phone number i assume you have his full name, and full address.... i'd pay one of those phone look up services for 5 bucks or whatever they charge and get his phone number and give him a call and ask what's going on, and go from there.......

I too have dealt with Jim. In my one experience, his communication was not the best. His excuse was he is a medic on overtime, cool no prob. It took a while for my package to arrive in Jan, he said it shipped, I requested DC#s, he didnt respond for a cpl days so I again requested them, he replied saying he accidentally mailed it to himself and that he had shipped it to me that same day and then provided #s. I got the knife and was happy with it. Hope it will work out for you. I think its complete BS when someone has the time to log on everyday but not the decency to respond to important emails.

I just can't get my head around the fact that these guys whom are making these mistakes have good reputations, which can be ruined by threads like this. Have personal reputations taken a back seat to makin a buck? Yes people get busy but it takes only a minute to communicate with the buyer, why does this seem to be so difficult to some? Am I missing something???

I can't fathom it either. I hope the OP is done right by the offender.

Jim emailed me tonight. He was very apologetic and mentioned some family troubles that had taken his time.
He seems dedicated to making things right. I really appreciate that.
He says he will send my money back
Thank you everyone for your input, Im glad its all getting settled

Just curious but why not send the knife you paid for instead of a refund?

He says that he shipped the knife and does not know what happened to it. He never sent me a DC# though....

This combination are often used by those that just didn't do what they were supposed to. Some end up doing the right thing, but others don't. I hope it works out well for you.
all da best,
rats...

Funny it took this thread to motivate him to answer you. Hey Jim, man up, come talk to us. Why did you regularly log on and ignore the buyer? What excuse do you have this time?

So sick of members lame arss excuses, its called, LIFE! Fulfill your obligations or do the world a favor and go play in traffic.

Deric I hear you man, but before we flame the guy here lets see if he makes it right by Jono12.

Everyone makes mistakes, some more than others, but it is how we handle our mistakes which defines us. If Jim is an honest man he will refund the money to Jono12, which is what hopefuly is happening.

Let every one know when you get your refund Jono12.

A money order came in the mail today from Jim. Its for half the amount. I expect the other half to be coming soon.
I really do appreciate him making things right

Great, you are a bank now making interest free loans!!!

can I borrow $150 interest free for a while????

I Would Want All Of My Money Back At The Same Time To Be Honest. You Didn't Send Him $150, And Then Send The Other $150 At A Later Date. You Rightfully Paid The Man $300 Completely Upfront, You Didn't Receive Your Purchase. He Says He Sent It, But We Don't Know If He Really Did. If Sending Such An Expensive Knife.. And Having Someone Pay You $300 For It, You Would Think You Would Send It Tightly Wrapped In A Box Priority Mail With DC# And Insurance, Promptly Send It Out As Soon As You Receive The Money(Come On It Takes 10 Minutes Of Your Precious Time) And Get Right Back To The Buyer. It's Not Rocket Science As To How These Things Should Be Done. I Could See If It Was A $50 Purchase Not Sending It With Insurance, But Come On. Oh And He Somehow "Loses" This Knife In The Postage, And Pays You Back In Installments... Wow. Sorry, The Whole Thing Kind Of Pisses Me Off A Little.

Wow Jono, you are a better man than I for staying so polite through all of this. Shame on Tidefan... I can't believe after all of that he sends you half the cash. The knife got lost in the mail? I'm sure...

Better hope if he's saying it was lost in the mail, that Tidefan isn't trying to act like half is all he should give you back.

Well, He Said He'll Send Him The Other Half Back, But Is Giving The $300 Back In Two $150 Installments. I Think He Should Give Jono The Full $300 All Together.
