Problems keeping a crisp, clean plunge line when hand sanding

Im making my first knives using files and hand sanding following bladsmiths tutorial. Things are going great so far (all credit to the great tutorial) but one of the things i would like to get better at is creating a clean well sanded plunge line. What im currently doing is clamping a piece of wood to the blade to use as a guide when creating the plunge line. this works well but if i leave the guide in place when i sand i am unable to sand all the way down into (and on the exposed edge of ) the plunge line. If i move the guide back slightly (or remove it completely) in order to get into the crevace i end up rounding off the sharp angle of the plunge. Any advice on how i can improve this area of my work is much appreciated.

There are a couple videos I think that will be useful to you. Nick Wheeler's hand sanding tutorial is fantastic. Each one has a 2nd part too.

Plunge cuts can be however the knifemaker wants them to be......
so long as they're neat and even.

A sharp corner relief grind does make for a weak spot in the knife unless its more for display. Frank
