I had an early one that would suffer lock failure from normal hand pressure on the spine. Got rid of that one shortly after buying it. Fast forward many years and I now have an S90V and 2 black bladed S30V's all with rock solid lockup and no problems even under some heavier use. I'm not a huge Spyderco fan in general, but I really like the Military overall.
No issues here. The Military is my absolute favorite knife platform of all time and I currently own and use four of them: D2, BG-42, Orange S30V and Black-bladed S30V.
Mine had a loose lanyard tube when I got it, but 5 minutes in the shop fixed that. I'd say that the military is right at the top when it comes to quality and design for a production knife. If you're at all interested, you owe it to yourself to get your hands on one.
