Problems with 560 deployment

No the detent ball is there, I can see it. And no you can't have it. At least not yet. I'd like to wait and see this one in full working order before I decide if it's a keeper or not.

Had a similar problem with mine when I first got it. Couldn't get the blade to fully deploy and lock without using wrist motion while actuating the flipper. There was also a squeak coming from the pivot area while the blade was moved from about 45 deg to 90 deg. After a few dozed cycles this all smoothed out, the squeak is gone and the blade will deploy smoothly and lock firmly with no wrist action required. I still can't deploy using the thumb studs unless I am very careful to push straight up on the stud and not put any sideways pressure on the thumb stud at all. I also had some trouble unlocking the knife. Releasing the frame lock required a lot of force, felt gritty and would sometimes jam. A little graphite from a pencil lead fixed this problem immediately.
A little off topic but just to make a couple of you guys jealous. I didn't even decide on the 0560 until Monday of this week. Spent a couple of hours searching online and found one in stock at a gun store in Texas for MAP price. Had it in my hands by Thursday.:D

Ya I was kinda joking, but I'd take it. I didn't realize they were shipped and out yet.

None of my IKBS systems would ever be in the same sentence as gritty or stiff. They were all smooth and lightning fast. Breaking in is not necessary with this set up.....I thought ZT was using the same principle? Stiff deployment should never be a issue with a bearing system.

It sounds like there are a few things wrong with it. You should probably either send it in to Kershaw, or see if the guy that sold it to you will exchange it. The nice thing is that Kershaw is fast when it comes to ZT knives, not the 4-6 weeks that it is with normal kershaw knives.
