Hello, this is my first post after years of visiting this forum. I would really thank if you could spend a couple of minutes with this matter:

I learned and read numerous times about the reputation and good experiences with Knifecenter (over Bladehq, Knifeworks, etc.) and finally pulled the trigger on some knives. My first order (5 months ago) was great, I just paid an extra $40 to get it through customs. The second and third orders (3 and 2 months ago) were also fine, and I "just" paid $85 to get them through customs as well. Yeah, yeah, I know that's my fault and my problem. I made a fourth order as well, a month ago, and everything fine (even though FedEx did its job again at customs and jjust charged me $60)

But then I made my biggest order on February the 26th, $392 worth of knives and stuff. I supposed everything would be as before, great service and tracking but a lot of money to get it through customs. After the "Web Reference" was sent, I changed my mind and chatted with Nicole, from Knifecenter, asking whether they could void the payment and change my cart, because I wanted to change a couple of things. They said "No problem" and I changed the order, shooting it up to $407.
Knifecenter "unfortunately undercharged" me for the shipping costs and I had to pay 20 more dollars to have it shipped. In the end, the order arrived today (after I let go $120 this time, absurdly big amount) but there's never been a refund of the original amoun ($392).

Now I've been days talking and emailing Nicole, from Knifecenter, to see what happened. I was told that the money had been refunded, and the transaction might take some time to be approved. I waited, I went to the bank, nothing.
Knifecenter supplied me a transaction number, which was invalid. I asked them again, they told me I had been given my money back. The bank assured me that on March the 9th the original money charge would be either "Confirmed" or (as I expected) "Cancelled". Today I've spent the morning on the bank, just to hear that the transaction "the money charge on my account) had been confirmed, and there was no refund, no pending actions or anything.

If nothing is solved, I will have to take legal action, but I feel I've given enough time and opportunities to Knifecenter to refund me my money and asses this problem after I paid twice. Any opinions on this? (Thanks for taking your time and reading the post)

You might need to work through your bank to have the charges reversed. Not much can be done here in this case, it is more of a situation between the bank you use and the retailers bank. Sometimes credit card refunds take 2 weeks or more. What country are you in, that also might help with perspective.

yep. what Revdev said. banking can play some odd time frame games. i seriously doubt knifecenter is doing anything malicious or wrong. i'd look at the banks/credit cards and their typical delays, first and foremost.

curious only, not meant as a criticism by any means.....but why don't y'all use online or knife stores in your own countries? is it the cheaper prices in the usa...or better tax advantages......or lack of availability of certain models....or combo of things mentioned..... or something else....? i apologize as i don't want to derail your thread, but curiosity has gotten the best of me. thanks in advance.

I am form Spain, forgot to say. Barcelona. Both things you said: Avaliability of certain brands (Kershaw, Ka-Bar...) and overinflated prices here. I have bought many times from sotres here in my country, but as far as knives are concerned, I prefer foreign brands. About price and tax advantages...after the taxes I had to pay, it's worth giving it a second thought before buying again from other countries. FedEx really annoys me, never (or almost never) had any problems with customs when using DHL or others.

I have bought numerous knives from Knifecenter and have always had good experiences. They are a legit dealer on a large scale. If I were you, I would give it a bit more time and see if the money comes though, and maybe contact Knifecenter again. My experiences buying/selling overseas have not been good and a lot seems to get lost in translation during the transactions. I hope your situation gets resolved.

I only had one problem but it was entirely my fault, not Knifecenter. Credit card refunds take far longer, just wait a little longer, like Rev said.
Their customer service is excellent in my opinion.

So you paid the original balance, and when you updated your order, you sent ANOTHER 400$ payment? Im just trying to grasp exactly whats going on.

Understood. Thank you for the feedback.

I work with a Spaniard. He owns a house and some property down south on the Spanish border with Gibraltar. Talks about
Spain all the time. Weirdly he doesn't like f1 like I do. Back on topic..i wouldn't worry to much. Knifecenter is a big legit company. They will do right.
