Problems with lock on Buck/Strider (disengages)

I found that with the application of some sideways force on the handle, the lock "strength" was significantly reduced and it would disengage under light force (wrist torque). Is this the expected behavior for this folder?

I also broke off a piece from the top of the liner while examinating what exactly was causing the lock to disengage (how much force was needed in either direction basically). Can I buy a replacement?

Cliff,
I have not heard of any of the Striders having that problem. If you send it in to us we will fix it under warrantee. I would also like to show it to the engineers.

Cliff,
Send the knife to:

B.K. Inc.
1900 Weld Blvd
El Cajon, CA 92020

Include a note describing the problem and of course include your return address.
Using initials instead of the Buck name helps to prevent advertising what you are mailing to postal workers with sticky fingers.

Cliff,
I would only add that you should sent the knife to my attention. I really want to see what went wrong with the knife.

Take care,

I experienced a similar problem this past weekend. I'm also consistently getting a little up and down play on the blade even when the lock appears to be fully engaged.
