Problems with Survival Sheath?

Ordered a sheath around Christmas from SurvivalSheath, heard nothing for 3 months, inquired, was told it would ship "next week", that was ~1 month ago

Heard good things, so I wonder if this is an anomoly?

I was in no rush, but don't like inconsistencies between words and actions.

Anybody have experience with them?

What's your name, Byrd? I'll rectify it right away. First I've heard of it not getting there.
 
Thanks for the qucik reply Rob, I'll shoot you another email. Perhaps there was a delivery problem with previous emails or perhaps the sheath should have already been delivered and it's a problem with shipping.

As I said, heard great things, can't wait to get the sheath!

Still no sheath... after being told 4-22-09 that "I'll have you outr tomorrow."

Biggest heartache for me is that I actually want to order MORE sheaths, but alas, hard to justify based on my one experience.

I really hope this is an anomoly and we can get things straight between us because I have more knives that need sheaths and I like what I see on your site. I've heard great things and I don't intend this thread to be hurtful.

I'm truly not trying to be a prick, and since I only responded to your 4-22-09 email yesterday I understand you probably aren't checking emails on satuday, but I also think enough time has passed for me to start questioning things.

Let's resolve this issue and do some more buisness!

Looks like it was going to work out well.. But, apparently not. Or at least not yet.. Its nearly another month yet again and Byrd is still without his sheath. :confused:

First, sorry for my bad english. I've also bought a blade at Survival Sheath the 23d november. It's now nearly 2 months that I'm waiting (Belgium) and I haven't received anything. It was 117 $ and since the middel of december, I get no answer from all the messages I send to Robert Humelbaugh, my contact there. Does anybody have the same problem???? thank you
 
I recently ordered a stealth sheath chest rig. I waited for about five weeks the finally called to check on the status. I was skeptical when the order did not ship when he said it would. I read some bad posts about the company and was starting to get real nervous. The good thing was Robert always returned my emails. I received my chest rig and it is of pretty good quality. Give Robert Humelbaugh a chance, if you see what you like don't be afraid to order just expect about a 6-7 week delivery. Advice to Robert Humelbaugh; you could probably put your customers to ease if you didn't charge their credit card until the actual ship date!
 
This behaviour has been going on for years.... you can see it well documented in the archive where his hosted forum has gone to die. He DOES make a very nice sheath but his lead times, communication, follow through and scruples (charging for a product before it is made knowing full well he will not meet the quoted delivery time) are all abysmal.
