problems with the website??

Is anyone else having problems with the website? If I try to insert an image into a post, the site just freezes up and I need to exit the browser. I can type text, but that is all. My membership information still shows Gold status, which should allow me to post an image, but when I go to post the icon next to the post does *not* indicate gold member status. I have rebooted my computer, logged out of the site and logged back in, but no changes.

Is anyone else having problems .... or is this something limited to me, and maybe on my end, not the website itself....???

I had a small issue yesterday where the site froze when I clicked on the button to preview my post. The browser itself did not freeze, so I switched to another tab. When I checked again after a few minutes, the BF site said there was an issue and to please try again later. I tried again immediately and it worked.

Random pic post to check:

Edit to add: Looks like it's working for me sir.

Thanks Dave. I’ll try a different browser, and if still not working, hopefully tech support will have some thoughts

Ok .... so this is a request for webmaster tech assistance. As stated above, I do not appear to be able to paste any image into posting (as I have done before). My membership level is at gold (which should allow me to post), I have logged out and back into the website, I have rebooted my local computer, and I have tried two different browsers (chrome and edge). The result is the same: when I try to insert an image from my clipboard, the website locks, I can do nothing at all, except kill the browser window.

Any insights on what is going on??

I’ve had random freeze ups and occasional sluggish download or uploads. I haven’t had any problems on other sites. I don’t know what it could be.

Maybe the pics are too large?

Same here. Sometimes a refresh of webpage helps, sometimes you lose what you typed though.

Test photo.

Working fine for me. I think that your byte size may be too large for your photos.

Perhaps .... but I really do not think so. I learned that lesson several years ago .... and usually when I try to post too large an image I get an error. In this case, I get a frozen website and no error message. Also, I have tried to re-post images I successfully posted just several days, but now they dont post and again I just get that frozen website.....

What is the byte size of the photos you are having trouble with?
lets see .... one I just tested with is 26K. I have tried smaller, still same result of locked website.

I want to *reiterate* that, at least in my experience, if I were to try to upload a too-large file, I would get an error message (which, actually, clearly says "file too large"). That is NOT what is happening now. again to reiterate, I get no error message, the website just immediately locks (cant type text, cant navigate, cant try to undo the upload. only solution is to close the window and re log in).

Yeah, that's weird. I usually take mine down to around 100K.

I’ve been having periodic really slow page loading…but didn’t want to start the thread again. 😬

For the last 6 weeks or so I have had the issue with posting photos that all my inserts GO TO THE TOP OF THE PAGE.

Used to be I just drop in an image from my desk top at my cursor in the thread. Now I drop in an image and it goes right to the top of the page above anything I've written or posted so far. I then need to SELECT my image again and INSERT at my cursor - THEN go up the page and delete the one that was posted at the top.

Certainly a nuisance and a bit confusing. Not a big deal but certainly not the SOP of years past. I just need to remember to always DELETE the one the image that dropped in at the top. The software always gives me the choice to INSERT thumbnail or full size image at my cursor after the drop - BUT -it's an EXTRA step. 😖 Adds up when trying to post a sales thread. I have changed NOTHING ELSE in how I have been posting photo successfully for years.
