Hi everyone, I'm having a little with the search function, so I'll just ask my questions even though I'm sure they've been answered before. I'm going to be making my first knife early next week, and I still have a couple questions about putting a handle on, specificaly, how do I do it? I'll be using stained hard maple. Do I drill and sand the scales first, then finish them (stain & polyurethane), then glue, then pin them? And how exactly do I cut and pein them? Also, can someone recomend a good adhesive, all I see on the Jantz website is zap-a-cap pink and green, will these work? Any advice will be eternally appreciated. Also, can I silver solder a brass guard to 01? That's all the steel I have for now. If they can be soldered togather, what flux and solder should I buy?
