Processing deer with AD

Hey Simple Man, funny you mention the Spyderco Moran, my wife loves her original upswept point Moran for deer and pig work! The handle is simply designed and perfect for long term work. That poor knife worked way too much game a couple of years ago, but still shines today. :)

My choice so far, none has come close in the Busse world, is my BAe stripped and convexed, light enough for skinning, and heavy enough to chop bone and sinew. I went through an entire domestic hog without needing to resharpen. I am very proud of my little BAe. :D

I have considered using the Moran, but I can't get past the enjoyment of the AD. May have to shoot a doe just for the Moran, hmmmm.

I used my scrapyard war dog and fehrman peacemaker today to skin 5 mule deer. I was impressed with the edge retention on infi. It also did a good job gutting my nephews buck. Tomorrow i will put it to the test cutting all that meat.

The AD worked well on an elk we got first of this month. I carried a cultellus in case the AD got dull. No complaints at all with the blade shape. It took two days to pack the elk out in backpacks so I traded the used AD for
a freshly-sharpened one on day two. It probably wasn't necessary but a sharp knife means less work.
