Production Customizing

I have seen over the last year some intrest in customizing production knives,Emerson more than others and decided to simi customize my CQC7,Ti Bolsters,Drilled G10 backspacer, Maroon linen micarta scales,Anodized and jewled liners.
I finished the bolsters and backspacer lastnight and I am satisfied with the outcome so far,the knife should be complete this weekend.
The reason for this post is to test the waters to see if there is a market for this type of customizing from a no name up start at reasonable prices (pricing undetermaned at this time)but will be reasonable nonetheless.
This is going to be my way of braking into the knife making world kind of from the outside in so to speak.
I continue this project with the same amount enthusiasm as when I started so I know I am hooked.
I will finish out this post with with a Thank you to a knife maker who spent a great deal of his valuable time teaching me the in's and outs of knife making or customizing in this case Larry Chew one of the most prolific folder makers in the world.
Thanks in advance to all who read and reply.

Hi Kevin,
This sounds most promising, indeed!

It appears as though Frank Recupero gets a fair amount of this business, and Neil Blackwood had to turn folks away after he made some beautiful mods to a Buck Strider, so I think there just might be a market. Please post pics ASAP!

Kevin,
I for one am interested. I am sure others would be too. I know that modified AFCKs were a hot item at one time. Let me know when you are ready to start taking orders.

Price for the above mods will be $120.00 plus shipping.
Bronco:
I think there is a market for quality custimizing, I posted the same thread in the Emerson forum and received a fair amount of response.
A quality product at a reasonable price everyone wins.
The same mods from the Emarson Custom Production line I heard were $250.00 plus the knife.
I have completed all but the anodizing and jeweling on #1 which will be complete tomorrow so hopefully I will have pics up this weekend or at worst late next week compliments of John Hollister from the Emerson forum.

Bronco when you see the pictures let me know what you think, and that goes for every one that sees them, I need input and advice from you guys so I can keep this moving forword.

Thanks

Kevin

I have been considering a blue handle for my REKAT Carnivore Cub. Make sure you let everyone here at Bladeforums know when you are accepting orders. You may end up with more work than you can handle. Good Luck.

Looking forward to it, Kevin.
