Production G&G Hawk Designs

Just saw something that blew my mind, Gavin Hawk collaboration with Anthony Marfione. I really hope Microtech releases a production version of this design.

These guys have been prolific as of late! Which is fine by me...their designs are some of my favorites...though that's not saying much...I have a lot of favorites...hehehehehe

Great thread, thanks to all of the posters above that posted the video and pictures links!

I am definitely picking up the Buck 830 Marksman (the Buck rep in one video got it wrong, it is a manual-opener, not assisted-opener.)

The Boker Plus Griploc is another one I will get.

I never really paid attention to their designs before these.

I applaud their creativity and innovation. I don't think I've ever heard of either their strap lock or griplock (beyond their other knives). I like the look of the Marksman but the Marfione collab takes the cake.

If any of you have not yet seen the Grant and Gavin Hawk short video - they design their knives out of a old barn in Idaho - real folks the Hawks. *there are several nice knives shown in the video as well - some never made it into production.

Yeah Grant and Gavin hawk are everywhere and they have such amazing innovative designs and locking mechanisms. I have a Kershaw R.A.M. and it's one of my all time favorite knives. I will definitely be picking up the Boker Griplock it looks like a nice lightweight gentleman's knife, has a nice looking clip, and is only $75. I think I'll pass on the Buck Marksman due to my bad experience with Buck once, but it does look like a nice knife and I'll be interested to see what people have to say about it when it comes out.

It would appear - from an untrained eye - that Grant and Gavin Hawk - adapted their ROCK flipper IKBS knife design and locking mechanism for this Buck 830 collab:

If you were to watch this video - start at 5 minutes 48 seconds into the video and there is the original knife:

That's what they do. They come up with a new lock, do a small run of prototypes as proofs of concepts and shop them around to different manufacturers. That's exactly what they did with the strap lock.

Here we go - here is the quartermaster G&G hawk collab E.T. design esque knife:

I like the flipper aspect of it... pricing is unknown, availability is unknown. Not a fan of black coatings... hopefully a stonewashed/tumbled finish option is available.
