Production Mini Commander

John,

Did you talk Mary into giving You, Eric & I numbers 1,2 & 3 serial numbers. If you were really good, we would have got them free

That's a great idea, David!

And btw, I e-mailed in an order for a plain-edge Black-T. This was two days ago, and I haven't received a response from the people at Emerson. Anyone else have a problem with not receiving confirmation?

P.S. My lack of postings lately is due to many things, much of which is because I'm busy installing a really cool video-security system here at my ranch, and also because business is booming. I'll send an e-mail to larry@bladeart.com and get an update on the G10 La Griffes for everyone right away.

I haven't recieved confirmation from EKI yet, either. But, I'm not worried about it.

John, did Mary say if they were going to put serial numbers on the mini commanders? That would be pretty cool! Especially if they differentiated between the black-T blades and the satin blades...

Got my "regular" Commander today! I'm psyched!!

It's a "2000", and is much bigger than I imagined. I guess I was thinking about the width of the blade on the SOCFK, and just assumed the Commander would be about the same. Wrong!

I like the "chunkier" feel to the knife - fits my hand better.

Eric,
I didn't get a response from Emerson yet either. I thought you might like my idea.

Great to hear that business is booming for you. I wondered what happened to you. You were quite for a few days. Glad to hear everything is OK. I totally understand being busy. You have a security system, I've got wood floors, carpets to rip out, wall paper to tear down, paint & a 15' x 15' walk-in closet to redo.

I'm just taking a break tonight. All work & no play.....

Eric:
I have not rec'd a confirmation but am not to worried. They have got the info now and I'm sure I will here back.
Gord.

Hey guys, you may not hear back until they are ready. In this case, no news is good news . . . they didn't send back a message saying "What the Hell are you talking about!"

I have emailed with Derek, Mary and Carrie about the Mini-Commanders. There has been no work on serial numbers. That would be trick.

Assumption on my part:

I assume that the "Satin" ones will actually hit the streets before the Black-T ones. The Black-T ones will have to be sent to Walter Birdsong & Assoc for the coating. The HC waved CQC7B were done way before the BT ones.

Glad to see things don't change much. Every time you post it to complain that Emerson's knives aren't large enough.

The Mini-Commander is not meant to replace the ES1-M, far from it. It's a completely different fish.

For every knife there's a market, perhaps this isn't your knife.

I think that many here on the forums would agree with you that a 4" Commander would be trick. But I personally don't hold much hope for that.

The Commander (with a 3 3/4" blade) is too large to be carried in some jurisdictions and circumstances. The Mini is for people that need/want a knife for those situations.

If EKI did offer a 1/4 inch larger Commander, it would still be a Commander.

Want an ES1-M? Buy an ES1-M.

Ordered mine on the 1/10 and haven't heard anything yet.
Hey does anyone have any info about when the NASA Specwar will be out?

Mini Commander? Yep, I'll have one please...50/50 Black-T bladed.

...d@mn...this is gonna get expensive...

This will be my first Emerson knife. I am rather a newbie at all this. Emailed in an order for Green G10 scales, satin plain edged blade.

I think this will be a great one for my first Emerson blade.

My order was confirmed by Carrie today 01/15.
