Production XM-18 Blade Grind Question

On Production Gen 3 XM-18's, were they offered with a "slicer" blade?

Good question.
As I believe it, slicer grind XM 18 3" would most likely be a custom. But with special items offered at shows and gatherings I cannot say with certainty. The Gen 4 18 3.5 is the only production thus far with a choice of slicer or spanto.
Someone more knowledgable please post.

not 100% positive, but i think you are correct
 
It makes sense there would be some overlap as the Gen 4s were replacing Gen 3s. But that only applies to 3.5" right?
 
I am going to add a little to the question.
Any Production XM-18, Gen 3, non flipper, 3.5", slicer grind?

I could understand this if the blade geometry was the same, but the blade was cut differently at the stop location.
 
Does anyone know if a slicer Grind blade can be purchased for an XM 18 3.5" Gen.4? I have both a flipper and non flipper in the XM 18 3.5", they both have the Spanto blade. I know the G-10 scales are at the second market stores. I wondered if anyone has heard of this being an option?

Bill, it sounds like a limited offering (show/GTG) or a custom. I'd like to help more, but I already feel that I'm guessing.

@sigwag69: please read the sticky...there is only one..it states they do not sell blades, lock sides or liners.

Yes, at the end of the Gen 3 XM-18 3.5" there were some with the production slicer blades.

Non flipper? Not sure, I don't believe I have seen any but that certainly doesn't mean there wasn't any. I have seen pics of a few of them, they were all flippers.

You can not purchase a blade alone, only the complete knife. This is specifically noted on their website:

I've seen a "Gen 3" XM-18 Slicer that sold on a popular knife site, although web sites aren't always accurate.
But like RDA said, some must have gotten through.
 
There is one for sale on ebay right now (Gen 3) XM-18 3.5" flipper with a slicer grind (s35vn). Bid is already at about a grand.
