These are the knives that we finally got finished and are ready to sell. They are high performers and made for serious hunters. It took months of blood sweat and tears but we made about 20 each of the 3 models. They will go on my web site soon but this forum is the first time they are available on-line. I hope you like them. Thanks for looking.
Guys, let me give the shameless sales pitch.
The 3 models I have listed "Caper, Hunter and Skinner" have the best of everything and are the best all around hunting knives I can make. The final design is my own with many changes and refinements from years of feedback from several professional hunters and guides from here to Alaska.
The steel is .140" thick from Crucible Service Center, CPM 154 CM, waterjet cut from "Double R Machine" and is heat treated by Paul Bos in Post Falls Idaho. Paul has over 40 years in this business. Ive never been disapointed by his work in the 20 years Ive used his services.
The handles are G-10 from Alpha Supply. Chuck Bybee only stocks and sells the most select and quality materials. The corby handle bolts are custom made to my specs here in Walla Walla. Alpha now stocks and sells the remainder of them if you need some call him.
The grind is off of a 14" hollow grinding wheel and is taken down to 600 grit and finished off by hand with a 400 grit satin finish. There are no grinder marks on these blades.
The sheaths are a unique design with the belt loop integrated in. There are a total of 5 layers with one of them that covers the snap and protects the finish on the handle. The back of the sheath is completely flat. The only wet formed part is the front panel. The stitching is done on a Tippman machine and reinforced with saddlemakers copper rivets. They are dyed black and are easy to keep new with Kiwi polish.
The prices are actually at the minimum for me. These are the "best bang for the buck". I am a full time maker and the expenses are going up each year as you must realize. My prices on "field grade" knives havent changed in 10 years.
Let me know if we need to set up a payment plan. Im also open to handle changes but may need to adjust the price accordingly.
I will maintain and sharpen the knife for at least as long as I'm able. Postage is required
Thanks for the interest in my work.
