Am I missing something? This looks like a great knife. However there is little to no following of it, and hardly any manufacturer that stocks it.

I love it, and am wanting one, but it strikes me as strange that I dont hear of them often. What gives?

I agree I thought about getting one last week but it seems no one even owns one but Joezilla he did a great writeup in Tactical knives.I think maybe next week I'll order one.

I think there are more out there than we think. I plan on hgetting one when I have the funds. I think the size is perfect for a utility cutter. I plan on carrying and using it.

Maybe learning a little about the folks it was designed for, would help.

The Quiet Professionals of PS.com asked Bill Harsey to design a smaller, frame-handled version of the immensely successful and highly acclaimed Yarborough Knife, which is presented to graduates of the Special Forces qualification course.

The knife was designed to be compact, discreet, and concealable, but fully capable of a variety of routine field tasks like skinning, food preparation, and fine detailed knife work. At the same time, it was to be easily attached to load bearing equipment, or concealed for multiple low-profile carry options. It was intended to be complementary to the Yarborough or Green Beret Knife, and the Professional Soldiers knife achieves that goal magnificently.

Yeah I read that, and I have the issue of TK with the article Joezilla wrote, (which is actually what turned me on to the design). However, some looking around revealed not many of my "regular" dealers stocks them. I didnt know if their was an issue, or if they had a problem of some kind.

If I can find one at a reputable source I would order one.

Any sources guys?

New graham!! I love that place. I just never went through all the pages to get to it. The Soldier is almost on the last page! For such a newer model, they really need to move these up a bit!!

I bought one for camping and it worked great. I gave it a little cord wrap on the handle. Seems like it'd be great on a soldier's web gear.

I handled a PS at Nordic Knives, and I liked everything except the handle length. Its about half a finger too short for my hand, and the handle shape makes it difficult to compensate by adding a lanyard. I guess if I owned one I would talk about it more.

Personally, I think the PS looks awesome, and I'm sure it is perfectly made and a very useful tool.

However, it is pretty expensive (for me) for a neck knife. The sebenza is my dream knife, and I'd love to pick one up, but it looks like a RAT Izula will do for me for the time being on the neck knife genre.

I'm not criticizing the knife in any way (I think it's great) - I'm just trying to answer the OP's question.

Take care,

g

That knife was EASY to review. I had enough trouble trying to pack in what I wanted to say into 1,500 words. GREAT KNIFE!

Perhaps someone can answer a question on the PS. From the picture on TNK site and the description on Chris Reeves site, everything says it's a Gun-Kote finish. But the pictures on the Chris Reeves site and the pictures in Tactical Knives a couple of editions, back it looks too light. Almost like a stonewash finish. HAs anyone else noticed it being lighter than the usual Gun-Kote?

BluenoseWest -- I think the photos on the CR site are of a stonewashed prototype. I found a photo on the BladeArt site which shows a Gun-Kote finish. Here's the link:
http://www.knifeart.com/chrisreeveps.html I understand the desire for a less shiny finish in a tactical environment, but I kinda like the stonewash look, too.
