Progress on Cantina K.L.O.

Rusty, I have 3 more blanks cut out. Next one I'll leave the ricasso wider and it will have an enclosed cho.

It's good that I broke the scales on this one. When I went to take them off, they came off WAY too easily. The tang was too smooth. I'll rough it up on the disk grinder before installing new slabs. I also got the tang too hot on the grinder after installing the handle slabs. Live and learn.

Federico, it's hardened the same all over. Mr. Bos said they were 58.5. With it being A-2 steel, they should be tough enough. The heat treat is the one thing that doesn't worry me.

Thanks for your encouragement and comments guys. This has been way to ambitious a project for my level of experience, but it has taught me a great deal.

Very nice work. I am sorry to hear about the handle problem, but it sounds like your knife is simply sending you a message on product improvement.
