So in various IOP groups that I've been part of, we always discuss the progressive nature of addiction.

This also applies to knives.

Thank god the knives I tend to buy are $75-150, I have a good job and don’t have any other expensive hobbies or addictions.

True though about progression.... The “I will NEVER pay more than $X for a knife” is kinda a joke here for most. It starts low and can spiral. I did the same with guitars and wine. Many do it with gambling, drugs, booze, etc.

My advice is only to buy what you can afford, never buy “nice to haves” on credit, drugs are bad and stay in school.:)

Yeah, CM... I kinda follow:

... Get ahold of a knife, want to get another knife...

... pretty soon, want to sample better knives....

... end up in the search for the ULTIMATE knife...

Yeah, been here before in various iterations. :D

I still keep it kinda low key. I have a Sage I for everyday, beating around and a Sage II for dress. A little Ti if you will.
I did splurge on an Infi Ratweiler but......
Now I haveta sell my 3/16 stripped Ratweiler.
I'm pretty much, kinda, for the most part, one in, one out. Except for the twins.
