The blade is actually better than I thought.
Seller had left tape residue on the blade? Faint scratches from cutting stuff.

Edge is dull from normal use. Factory grind very clear.

A couple of swipes on the sharpmaker and back to normal.

Cleaned and lubed.

No reblade NEEDED.

Thank BF for your input

Sorry guys
I couldn't leave well enough alone.

Since it was dismantled.
3 things came up about this knife that I did not like

1- TOO SLICK for me.
2- The dents and dings were put there by someone else and carry their story.
3- BMs Green not really my shade.

I sandblasted the scales

If you want to go this route as a final finish. Beware, It snail trails like crazy if you carry it like that.

The Sandblasting added just enough texture. Not abrasive but a nice medium.

Shot them with KG Guncoat in OD green. Endura in British racing green for comparison.

Scales in my preferred color.

Any Dents and ding will be my story.

So much for 940 being a gentleman's knife. Now its a Everyman's knife

yes my camera sucks. They really are OD green.

Mod Sorry if this turned into a Mait-embel thread. It just turned out like that

Looks awesome. Well done! Glad you were able to modify it to your satisfaction.

Ditto!

A dremel with a buffing wheel can take off the purple easily, then you can anodize it a color that complements the OD green more (bronze comes to mind).

I may do that.

And you 940 fanatics were right about 940 in general.

How well it carries. Cuts. Blade ratio. Small but not too small.

My other knife are getting IGNORED. I have 2 more knives in the mail and It does not look good for them.

They might get flipped.

If it were me I'd talk to Josh at Razor edge and have him regrind that blade a little thinner, clean it up some... and if you want to redo the scales he can do those too. :D

Then I saw your updated work... IF you feel adventurous you can explore doing your anodizing of aluminum. even class III hardcoat.. I used to do that in my garage. Very tough finish. matte black/gray. About the same as the guncoat you have on there now.
