O-1 1/4" thick, 5" cutting edge, 11" overall. Full-height flat ground with swedge.

Just starting to work on the handle end. What do you think so far? Any suggestions? It will be handled in timber and have a shield shaped pommel like my other one.

All opinions/comments welcomed.

Cheers

Jules

Very nice. Looks like its a good size. Not too big or small and looks like it will have good heft.

Looks great!

I would recommend taking the guard and pommel protrusions in a bit. The handle contours already provide protection against accidental slippage.

I really dig that flat grind!

All the best,

- Mike

Nice size. Might be a cowboy knife, the end of the handle looks like a boot. Just teasing. I like it.

I like it a whole lot. Looks to be about the perfect do-it-all one knife size and geometry.

But please know if you are just not completely satisfied with your work when you are done, you can send it to me...
:)

1/4 inch thick?

That means I would love it, thick blades always get my attention. Very nice!

Thanks for the kind comments guys. Sawgrass7 this one is already spoken for.

Mentor, you're right the front 'guard' is in need of a trim back and the butt of the handle is still a WIP. The pommel that I'm planning to weld on is like this one. Still a ways to go.
