I don't know if this is the right forum but if not please move it.

I'd like to send my BM630 to be taken apart and cleaned up. I've done numerous mods to it and it has been an EDC for 2 years.

I'd like this done to it:
Screws replaced with torx
New pivot (male + female)
Replace if needed and polish bushings
Polish blade and inner scales where bushing makes contact
Polish tang and locking bar surfaces
Maybe new spacers too

BTW, expect loctite blue build up
Let me know who could do this for me.

Good grief, man, you may be a solid soldier but you are a screwy forum member. Why would you put a thread titled Project for STR or anyone else anywhere but in Steve's forum?

If he can't help, we could move it then, but that would have been a logical place to start. Of course, you could always have hit the Maintenance forum with it.

"Please move it" is unnecessary work for me.
Next time think before you post.
Or ask in Service & Support.

I like to sleep sometime too. :grumpy:

I'm not a polisher my friend. You are asking the wrong guy to give shine to things. I'd bead blast them but I'm not spending the kind of time on the buffer to spit shine things. Just too much time and too hazard risk the longer I stay on that buffer. Its the most accident prone piece of equipment in my shop and all but a couple of the nasty accidents I've had have been involving that dang thing! So, not interested in that part.

I am not sure I can replace the parts. Maybe the screws if they are 2-56 but not sure of the pivot size or screw thread size. It all depends on if they are proprietary to BM or readily available.

It will be going to Richard for the polishing, sharpening (and if need be, reprofiling the double edge). Thanks for the response anyways. I'm sure I will have work for you in the future.

I hope it includes my work order form with all the questions I need answered as well as details of what I'm doing or being asked to do on it???

Find the thread titled "Read this to mail me work" and fill out and print the PDF work order form to mail with the folder. If done already disregard. Thanks

The above was for Richard J, who is watching this thread.

I do have a project in mind for you though. How about doing the same wave and double edge mods on a pair of byrd cara caras. G10 plainedge. This would be a month or two down the road.
