I have both and can best answer you question if I knew what you were planning on doing with the knife.
The P1's spearpoint, IMO, is better for stabbing/thrusting/penetration as a weapon and has a stronger tip for uses that are threatening to that part of the blade.
The shape of the P2 is more useful for most of what I use a knife for: food prep, slicing, spearing small items and fine cutting chores where a smaller knife would be better but a controllable large blade that is handle will also suffice.
Unless you are chopping with impact very near the tip (don't know why you would chop that way) I think they chop about equally.
I wind up actually using the P2 more. Then again, I am not a full time field soldier and I do not use either knife for the taks of soldiering or combat. If I did, I would likely choose the P1 over the P2.
