Great post Murray. I didn't think much of this style of knife when I was just looking at pictures. But after getting a chance to actually handle a couple, I better understand what these gentlemen have accomplished.

I had the privilege of sampling each of these. Finally chose the smaller of the two -- then sold it, as I decided it didn't fit me as well left-handed as right-handed.

hey, Michael, guess the knife can cut flesh anyway as well as rope.

I would have liked to have tried out both the larger model that I took as well as the smaller version. The one I have if it were ever to be used would sure do a lot of jobs. While it appears to be made for a right handed person, it does not feel bad for a leftie either. Of course, the sheath would need to be changed as mine if for wearing on the R.

When I wear it to the CKG show I'll be interested to hear any comments about the knife for sure.

Excellent write up Murray. I have been fortunate enough to own 5 of Ed's knives, and to meet him at the Oregon Show. The knives are obviously top-flight users, but at least equally as thrilling is meeting the man. Always the highlight of driving up to Eugene.

I almost bought a Burke, but it was gone in the blink of an eye. His knive look great, and are very high-performance from what I hear. One of Bill's blades is certainly in my future!
