Pronunciation?

Not to get too weird, but I'm drunk, so what the hey.

Benjamin Franklin. Remember him? He was the first of many who thought English was a screwed-up language, and we should spell things phonetically. Or is that fonetiklee?

Maybe he was right. The only thing I know for sure is that I thank God every day for Daniel Webster, who was the guy who decided we should spell our words differently than the English do.

I've always heard it as worn-cliff.

That's how I've always heard these words said.


Anyone got that Umnumzaan pronunciation? Are they long U's or short U's? Is the zaan pronounced like you would say van or is it like gone? Or is it even like Zay-an or Zay-on? I've always pronounced it Um-numb-zahn.
