I was looking at purchasing my first gas forge and was interested in the small Devil-fire forge. I was just curious if anybody has covered a propane forge over to run on natural gas. I understand that natural gas (in residential applications) runs low and would need a forced air system added. Would something like a home furnace fan (small 3"fan, not squire cage fan) be effective enough for this? Or am I wasting my time?

A NG burner isn't a simple thing. It needs a proper size blower and an air gate to adjust flow rate and velocity. It needs all the gas pressure and flow your system can give. That is often not enough on a residential system for any more than HT.

It can be done, but using LG gas is far simpler and probably cheaper in the long run.
