Proper procedure for sending stuff back to Spydie?

My Calypso Jr is umh....becoming a lemon.
Someone forgot to stick in the left side screw insert..Now, my right side screw seized in place (no loctite used)

Do I call first before sending, or a note will suffice? Thanks~!
