I would certainly purchase one once they are available.
I do not envy you for undertaking this effort again. Bravo.

How about a 4- to 6-bladed config; whether a doube-stockman, a congress, or a triple-penknife? It's all-knife blades, mind. What I'm thinking of is a whole box of retractable scalpels in your pocket.
As we say here in Oz " yeah mate yeah yeah Nah!😁
the excitement over a BF traditional forum knife is enough to cause “important information blindness”.

Kind of like running out into the street to see a nice car go by.
Dude duuuuuude its the ice cream van...

Thanks for clarifying the design with Charlie’s earlier post Jiki.

I saw the pic posted but did not have time to read 22 pages of comments.

It’s a great knife as pictured with the black delrin or black micarta covers.

I do hope Bill will stamp the tang Bladeforums as that is a cool little detail for the knife.

I would certainly purchase a bf knife. I don't post often but read along of threads and posts. Wouldn't it be cool to see gec make a run of beagles again then the bf rabbit knife. I'm a rabbit hunter lol.

I'm in. Black delrin (or whatever) is cool with me. I've moved a lot of my black cover GECs over the years, so anything of that color is GTG

While I realize that we have historically been rather spoiled for choices on our forum knife, I really think that acrimonious debate over the knives in recent years has soured the process. I hope that folks wanting to join in this year's knife purchase will do themselves the favor of reading through the thread and understanding that this year is not one where we get to make changes. I'm sure there is no harm in talking about our preferences, but my understanding is that lobbying for options is not on the menu. This is a take it or leave it knife.

I also miss the days of getting to design our own knife. When I started participating, there were a lot more options for makers, and the orders were a lot smaller. Over the last eight years the number of makers willing/able to accommodate us has shrunk, while the numbers of orders has grown, and the spirit of friendly cooperation during the design process has morphed into competition over options.

I hope that folks wanting in this year can embrace an ethos of thankfulness for the opportunity to buy a fine example of the cutlers art in an unusual (in the US) traditional pattern. I have faith that Bill and Charlie aren't going to lead us astray on this one.

Or you could just come on in and join the conversation, post a picture in what are toting today or you newest traditional, or ask a question. It doesn't take much, then you will never have to worry about it. All are welcome on the porch, well most are.😉🤔
dang it.... are you throwin shade at me again??

🤣 🤣

I never liked Delrin for several reasons:
--splitting at pins
--developing a waxy "fog" over time
--doesn't wear nicely

Dark wood or black micarta would be my preference.
Not being snippy here, but your preference really doesn't matter in this knife..... nor does mine. It will be decided by Charlie and Bill, and we will either like it and want it, or we won't..... easy-peasy.

Charlie never mentioned what black cover material would be used, so expressing a preference seems on the table.
If you want to exclude personal preferences, then ask a mod to delete about 70% of the posts in this thread.
