Is the rolling lock internals going to be similary to REKAT's rolling lock design.

Its may weekness is that it relies on a fragile spring to activate the lock. Once engaged it appears to be excellent.

Will - We do our own engineering, even on existing designs. The first and 2nd protos are looking very good. Spring strength in this lock does not affect the strength of the lock-up, as it does on a lock back. We would use a strong enough spring to insure that lock-up occurred even in adverse conditions (strong enough to avoid "bounce" of the spring in a hard snap open).

Oops I am not asking what I want to ask.

I have had two broken springs on my RETAK Poineer. I installed the 2 nd spring myself and the 1 st was replaced by RETAK. I am curious as to what changes Spyderco has made to spring design so that it is less prone to breakage.

I admit that I opened a closed the knife a lot with the first two springs but no more so that my AFCK. It was never "flicked".

Will - we have worked with flat and coil springs thus far. The coil seems to work better so far, but we're still some ways from conclusion.
