I received my Beaumont 10" KMG Variable Speed last week.

It's all still in the box(s).

Looking for suggestions on how best to protect all that steel.

I'm thinking disassemble, etching primer & then paint with good quality rattle can.

Any other suggestions welcome or suggestions as how to paint it.

Sort of "DOs & DON'Ts"

Assemble, grind steel, enjoy the patina it develops on its own :)

There is nothing better looking than a nice powder coat job, my brother powder coated his John Deere mower deck almost ten years ago and it still looks great

You will need to mask off all the mated surfaces and run a tap into any threaded holes after you get it back, but I think it would be worth the effort, Plus they have some really great colors

Powder coat looks so good you will wipe down your grinder every day because the dust will bother you. If you don't want to powder coat then do nothing and watch the steel develop a cool industrial look.

I painted mine with Hammerite paint. It looks great. The can looks like this and I got it at ACE Hardware. It's better than plain old spray paint.
