I've used Ren Wax for about 20 years on all my customs and a few nice EDC's.
Every January I clean the metal with isopropyl alcohol let it dry (minutes in Arizona) then reapply on the entire knife with a microfiber cloth followed by a vigorous hand buffing with a clean towel. I use it on knives from $200 to $1900. I have between 20 to 40 knives I use it on. I bought a 200 ml jar and have used maybe 25% of the contents. Most casual collectors will get by with a 65 ml jar. Like most petroleum products in 20 years some solvents evaporate. Best to buy the smaller can every 5 or 10 years. I highly recommend it.
