protecting myself

Right now this is just a hobby but I would definantly like to see it go somewhere. But for now I am only making knives for people I know. If I where to take it further How should I go about starting a buisness, Coming up with a name, paying taxes, and protecting myself against a law suit If something where to happen. Say if I screw up and get somebody hurt how do I keep from losing everything I have or paying the gov'ment everything else

Incorporate. Set up a LLC, it's quite inexpensive.

Setting up an inc. is not hard at all. you can pay someone to do it for you for as little as 500 bucks. maybe less...

You will have to file quartelies and make sure you keep decent records but you gain many advantages from owning your own business.
