I did happen to notice the difference, and thought you saved me a little bit of money....UNTILL you showed that picture! It appears that the 450 might be a real hand filler!?
 
Thanks for the comparison, from this post I really don't care for the 450. I noticed the flat on the drop point right off and don't like it. I do like the 442 DP.
The handle on the 450 does nothing for me either, I do like the handle on the 442 though.
And along the same lines, I'm not keen on the 482 spine, but it is better than the 450.
I like the handle on the 482 also except for the kick up on the back where the blade meets the lock, however I imagine that it is functional.
