Prototype Benchmade Sibert folder. with pics.

Saw this on another forum. Apparently a new prototype Benchmade folder designed in collaboration with Shane Sibert.

It seems like a heavy-duty folder to me. D2 blade, Axis lock, steel liners, generous jimping, screw-construction and what seems like a Valox handle. It packs a pretty big blade considering the handle size.

Im not totally blown away, as it seems too borrow too much from other knives. Its got a MPR-like blade and the handle-holes make it seem LFTi inspired. Id still take one in black though :thumbup:

Not really impressed but I do wonder if the hole in the handle serves a purpose.
 
The handle reminds me of CRKT M series. Not sure I like the handle. Love the MPR-like blade.
 
Great looking knife , second thread about it too :)

I do hope Benchmade or Shane works on the clip placement !!?? Terrible , as is.

Otherwise it's a beauty.

a Sibert designed blade with Axis lock mechanism? Not bad. Will definitely check this out.
 
I saw this on that other forum too... This thing is looking way too good :D I love his other benchmade knife, I'm sure this one will be just as cool

I would also like to see a blacked out version of this :)
 
Very nice, I'd prefer a lower profile clip placement and s30v but I'd still get it as is. Of course i'd be getting a satin version.
 
Well, not all Benchmade knives have to be great.
I am not really impressed. The shape is really boring. Which is good - I do not think this one will come cheap. So my to buy list is unchanged - Shoki, Bedlam, Mini Onslaugh... That one - nop...
 
even though a knife that hits production does not usually stay exactly the same as the first prototype, if this knife is in fact made exactly the way this prototype looks now without any changes, I'd friggin buy 2 of em! haha
 
Clip placement is perfect. I'm gonna buy one and wave it.
 
I like the backspacer contrast between the liners and the handle, it is interesting but it just doesn't do it for me
 
I don't really enjoy the look.

The coating looks like it's teflon too - not too durable - it's all scuffed.
 
I like the looks of this one. Hopefully it'll get a bladesteel upgrade. I'd like to see some m390!

Same here. I wish they would make it with M390. I wonder why they used valox for the handles instead of G10?.
 
This was love at first sight for me, I'm most likely gonna be picking one of these up, especially in M390. Wish the clip was different though
