Prototype Benchmade Sibert folder. with pics.

This looks like a very nice design for a fighting/tac knife although g10 handles would be a big upgrade.

It looks like a nice knife. If the price is right I'll pick one up. But it's not a must have for me.
I like the clip position, the black blade and the D2 blade.

ehhh....D2?....i'll just get another Hinderer or Strider

Still looks decent though

I hope they do a run in a different steel. I love the look of it, and a run in some stainless steel would be awesome.

I liked the form, but the pocket clip seems a total mis-match. I'd like to see a deep-carry on this one instead.

Why doesn't any one like D2? It's practically stainless, it holds an edge like whoa. What's the deal?

Wondering the same thing. It seems like some people think that 1% of chromium that D2 is missing (which makes it a non stainless) will make it crumble into heaps of rust. Come on people. Stainless is 13% chromium, and D2 has 12%.

It is LEAPS ahead of steels like M4 in regards to stain resistance.

Now that looks like the first axis lock knife that I've seen that has a blade and handle as tough as the lock! I like it a lot more than the 755

Hi PTP -

I like it - it looks like a "benchmadified" ZT with an axis lock.

The handle resembles something from SOG in some ways. I would prefer a deep carry clip option.

I also like D2, but I only have a couple with that steel - works fine and easy to sharpen.

Thanks for the pictures.

best regards-

Because it isn't the Steel-Of-The-Week, nor does it have the appeal of the various internet-couch knife testers.

How's it going fellas. I'm the owner of this knife. I will be getting my hands on it when I go down and visit my brother Tommorrow. But I am thinking it is g10 not valox I will give you guys a update in a few days.

Hey dude, it's been a couple days.

Hopefully it's g10. And not the regular BM 710 plastic feeling g10, but the grippy, higher quality stuff

Not one I'm interested in personally. I don't like the hard angle transitions on the handle and the D2 steel. The reason why I tend not to like Benchmade's D2 is their HT makes it a pain in the butt to sharpen. And by that I don't mean it takes a long time to sharpen. I mean it's actually frustrating to work with. In my own experience it seems to have a difficult time taking a very fine edge. You can get it "working sharp" easy, but anything farther than that and be prepared to wrestle with it. This isn't due to a lack of experience either. I only have this problem with Benchmade's D2, 440C, and old ATS34. They're all really hard and fight you tooth and nail to get them screaming sharp. Not sure exactly why.

D2 from other manufacturers is ok, but my preference is for other steels. I love Benchmade's 154CM.

I like the looks of the fixed blade version though!

I have no problem with Benchmade D2 and find it holds a great edge. I don't find any D2 steel really easy to sharpen but can get it screaming Sharp and it holds it a lot better than 154CM that they put in a lot of knives. They are both good but I like the longer edge holding of the D2.

I haven't bought a Benchmade in a while but will get this when it is available. As well as the AXIS Stryker assuming that isn't a myth.
