Up for grabs is prototype chopper number1: Specimen Cleaver, the first of the new Mad Science Forge brush whacking trail knives! This very lightweight piece is hammer-forged out of extremely tough titanium alloy, and is impervious to rust and corrosion.

Weight: About 12 ounces (without sheath)
OAL: 20 1/4"
Blade length: 13-14"
Blade width: 1 1/2"
Blade thickness: About 1/8"
Alloy: 89.5Ti 10Nb 0.5Fe aerospace beta titanium

Sheath and grip components: Cow leather, black deer hide, waxed nylon cord, neoprene, kevlar thread, aluminum sex bolts.

This knife includes a very high-quality sheath handmade by Mlle. Øye.

TRog: The sheath weighs about the same as the knife; I'll find out the real total weight later today.
 
The sheath weighs 12.6 oz, and the blade weighs 11 oz, for a grand total of 1 lb, 7.6 oz.
 
fastone052: I haven't been able to test the latest pieces, but so far the beta ti blades have tested close to or slightly above rc 50 on the spine.
