Prototype Folder Pics

I saw this at Blade as well. I love it. They said they were still working out some of the details, but I want one bad. Good job.

Ok, I have some energy....."Oh jeez" That's all your long winded ass has! LMAO! :D

Dude, If I walked in on Jamie Lee and she ....... had that knife (naked) back before she got Metamucil "needs" I would have said, " Oh Jeez, Look at that knife"
Im sorry if my post sounded lack luster, I was distracted as I just purchased my first Hinderer today (XM-18 3.5 Non-flipper)! Anyway I particularly like the pentagon pivots.

I love it, I can't wait to handle one some day since I wasn't at Blade 2012. The pentagon pivot is pretty trick, I like the idea of the female side recessing into the side and held solid without turning. I'd like to see it in a spearpoint and wharnie grind, love those grinds but it's neat to also see it in the much less common skinner grind. I understand that you guys are working out some details (e.g., hardware, etc.) and making changes to make it serviceable in the field so that will surely be appreciated.

Is the center standoff held in place due to being sandwhiched between the sides or is there also a screw under the G10 side?

i guess i should have thought out the post better. rather than having another knife we cant get our hands on it would be nice to go to different dealers website and see a selection of ricks knives in stock rather than searching on the secondary market. i know if i go on knife art i can order a CRK, strider, william henry etc.... and when i go into the hinderer section there is g10 scales and pens. i would love to see his knives for sale at his msrp prices. i have ways of getting hinderer's below msrp with no wait. im in a training program with our fire department and i know all of the guys very well and im sure i could get my captain to order me up a few i just choose not too.

as for the knife it is not my style at all and to be honest i think it is hideous. i would change the screws so i could use a conventional tool for takedown, put more of a tip on the knife or possible a drop point blade and add more curves to the handle to make it eurgonomic
I guess Rob summed it up Best. Thanks for Your Contribution to The Hinderer Forum.

How the.... A ghost standoff. I don't know how you guys do it, but you always impress.

No wait i can help this guy. From your second paragraph i can tell exactly what you want by looking at what you would change. I think this is what it would look like if those changes were done ;) :)

It's a pretty awesome folder. I hope I can obtain one of these one day. Great job Hinderer and crew.

Having fondled it at Blade, I can say that I like it. And regardless of what people who haven't held it say, it feels pretty good in hand. I'm not crazy about the blade shape but its growing on me. And since its just a PROTOTYPE, who knows what changes might happen before it becomes production (if it becomes production).

Thank Goodness there are choices in Life and different tastes, otherwise I suppose if one were to follow the alternative to it's logical conclusion - there would be One of anything and a very very L O N G line. :)

My impression of this particular "concept" I believe is fairly obvious and harks back to the first time I ever saw Pete's custom (All Ti, similar blade shape and effect) I began speaking in tongues that time (too).
I like knives and more specifically - Hinderer's A LOT.
Aggressive, purposefully built knives, beefy - takes two(2) seats to Fly ....type knives.
This knife is "up my alley" so to speak.
Just my opinion, "Your mileage may vary".:)

Great looking knife!!!

I had a chance to handle that knife at blade and its a super sweet blade.

In hand it is a quality piece. Pics do it very little justice.
As to liking it more or less than an XM, it is subjective. Much like someone preferring the ZT collaborations over real deal Hinderers or vice versa.
I may gravitate toward beautiful women and fast cars, you may prefer practicality in one or both. In the end all that matters is what make you the happiest. Life's way to short to hate, but we all have opinions. And difference of opinion keeps things interesting.

As for this design, in all honesty, I'd like to see some subtle changes. If the size of the hardware was reduced a bit, I think it would look pretty cool. And if you think about it a bit, the blade shape should not detract anyone who prefers something different. Hinderers XMs come in a variety of grinds, why would a new design be limited? Just sayin'.

No matter what, when and if this bad boy ever hits the market, any of us should be happy to own one. I know I would be.

Awesome! Start producing= I'll buy:D

Yeah, sign me up as well. I think i may like it more than a xm-18, don't be quoting me though.

I guess imbryan should take advantage of his "ways to get a hinderer below MSRP" and stop the complaining.
