Here is an old post of mine to get things started. This is a Bob Timberlake 303 Cadet with Ironwood scales and a nickel silver quill insert. It came in a black Limited edition box and included a brown slip sheath with "Bob Timberlake" embossed. I picked this one up at a gun show . The Ironwood is raw and unfinished and unfortunately I let some oil get on the wood while wiping down the blades and the oil sucked right in hiding the beautiful color. The dealer had 3 of these and the Ironwood scales were "unfinished" on all of them.

Here's a pair.
top one is from '97, IIRC.
Bottom was made from Camillus. I bought it in ~1979 to replace one I had lost while traveling on business. The one on the bottom was my daily carry for over a decade.

This pic did not come out as well as I had hoped. I was trying to show that the three-spring design was no thicker than the earlier two-spring design. They really are the same thickness. The pic just does not show it well. Three-spring is on the left...

Buck 303 variations from 1980, 1990, 2011, and 2013. The 1990 is one of my top five favorite EDC knives. OH

As I have mentioned several times my favorite 303, is a old Schrade Contract version. Flat ground, 440A. I just like the curvy shape. I have ground the toe of my sheepsfoot blade down just enough to match the top of the clip.

I along with about three other BladeForum 'collectors' consider the 303 a "primary" knife of desire. For BUCK made versions I have several that I especially value, here are two that I don't show or talk about much, the Black pearl is the really special one......it almost seems that when I have out several I should be rubbing my hands together and saying ' my precious'.....wasn't that in the Lord of the Rings?..300

P.S. The 303 and 301 are like the pickup trucks of the Buck world. They are the in your pocket, day to day knife, used to cut string and mail and plastic wrapping of all kinds. I just used mine to trim the edge of a plastic drum to use as a trash can. There is a small following of collectors, as I say, but you won't see people talking about them like they would a Mustang or Corvette (110 and 124). So there you go they are just a tool to many, but to me they are just like the not so pretty girl who was smart and caring, I picked it because it made me feel good and it gives me what I need to enjoy life and hopefully be a better knife owner for it......300

No pics, but count me in. I bought my 303 in Jan 2008 and since then it has been in my pocket more than any other knife. Currently it rides with a SAK Recruit as my EDC. The 303 is called on to do most everyday cutting. I have a 301 as well but the 303 is just more comfortable in the pocket especially if you carry more than one knife.

Since everyone is showing their fancy 303s, I'll show mine. It's been in my pocket for probably 35 years, complete with a reground blade after abuse broke the tip.

I showing my favorites, if you want fancy then I will have to rethink photos....
I have been carrying a dymondwood so I wouldn't lose my favorites.....ha. 300

I've got two here my favorite and my ugliest. The Ichthus is the only knife I've owned that has never been carried. The grey buck is one I got during a move when I discovered my knife had been packed away for the next few months. I don't know any thing about it but except I think it must have been a budget offering built in 1987. It is a 2 spring with brass not all steel. Based on the year it's 420hc as well. Walk talk and physical fit is perfect but the back square if that's the right term is a little sharp and that makes it a bit uncomfortable to use.

That is a great example of a proud 303 carrier. Good to see that there are a few of these out there and that you have been putting them to the test.

I love this forum; just learned that Buck made a gray scaled 303 - never knew that until I saw Skippers knife. OH

Ps As we already know, it is hard to beat a Buck 303 for a great EDC or a great gifting knife.

Here are a couple of pictures of my one and only 303. It is a Camillus made one that I carried for years. It is now retired.

I am looking for two of the Buck 303's Pearl handle 303s.jpg as seen in the picture. The two with the darker scales (gray & black). Can anyone help me locate them?

These are both flat-ground antique store finds: early Buck-made and Camillus-made. I like the belly and the springs on the Camillus, but I like the all-steel on the Buck. If I could have only one knife for all times and places, it would probably be one of these.
If I had more money or better skills, I'd probably put a fancier handle on one or both.

Here is one I have in my collection. I have over a dozen different color 303's. Never seen another one like this one. Got it off the bay. What do you think 300Bucks?
