Well got back recently with a new addition to the family:D I adopted Greg Covington's Claiborne hydraulic press. I have been salivating over one of these ever since using one over at Fred's forge. I had bought the Batson book and was getting close to building my own and in fact had already bought a few pieces when Greg's press came up for sale. After talking with Greg we came to an agreement and I brought it home today. I am super excited to get it to good use and visions of damascus are dancing in my head. It came with a set of flat dies, drawing dies, large and small squaring dies and a set of bevel dies that Greg made. Greg also threw in a load of steel and cable as well as some powder 1084 and some anhydrous borax. Ron's presses are built rock solid and run like a dream. Thanks to Greg Covington and Larry Fast(a local maker who drove me over to get it). Anyway here are the pictures of the new baby. More pics action shots to come.;)

Thanks all I am super stoked. I went and filled the propane tank when I got back and hope to get a bit of work done on it tomorrow. Greg sent me with many extras which I can't be more appreciative of.

Thanks IG after working on ol Leatherface's(Fred) I know that they are a great press and I can't wait to press some steel. Maybe later on if I am lucky.

That would be Mr. Leatherface to you.:D Robins egg blue if I am not mistaken.
Thats a great score Carl. I know you'll be turning out some nice product on it.

Mr. Fred:)

Thanks Mr. Leatherface! Got it wired up and working last night. Pressed a couple of things out. Now I need to get some billets together:)
