I was reading some post from Nick Wheeler, and he was a fan of using some PSA sandpaper on your 'sanding sticks' so I was looking for recommendations on types of preferred PSA sandpaper. I am thinking of 100-600 grits---any advice/input is appreciated.
+1 on Rhynowet for hand sanding. It's not psa but you don't really need psa for hand sanding. Nick has some great YouTube videos on refining plunges and uses Mirca gold psa. Supergrit.com has mirca gold psa rolls and Rynowet.
I also use the Redline papers. I use them for hand sanding, sanding on my disc sander and surface plate.
I tried much more costly paper and feel the Redline is the best... even ceramic paper barely outlasts it. I bet the ceramic would work better under lots of pressure like I use on the belt sander but I like a more moderate pressure for those tasks.
Would the PSA be preferred over using for example the 3M Feathering Adhesive with the Rhynowet? Sometimes I find it very handy to have the paper firmly attached to the sanding block. I seem to get flatter surfaces that way with less rounding of the edges.
