PSK carry options for EDC

With the announcement of ESEE's newest contest I got to thinking.
1. What sort of PSK do you carry?
2. Do you carry in an Altoids can or some other metal can?
3. Do you carry in some sort of nylon pouch?
4. Do you carry in the pocket or on a belt?
5. If you carry in a pocket do you wear only cargo pants?
6. Is there some other method of carrying one?

Obviously pictures would be great. Maybe you don't carry one on your person, why not? Is there a need for a small EDC or E&E kit to be carried daily on your person?

My PSK consists of my Izula, ESEE-4, ESEE Fire kit, a small flash light, and a paracord bracelet.

I like the idea of the new ESEE wallet coming out. I think that will be comfortable to carry everyday and I'll be picking one up.

I do have a tin kit made up, but I don't carry it all the time.

I carry a BOB with me everyday, all day. So, I have a pretty large PSK. My ASK is very similar to what most carry in it, and its in a pocket in my bag. I sometimes carry less. Here lately, my ESKABAR, para bracelet is all I have had on my body, but BOB is no more than an arms reach at all times. Hey, I'm paranoid, but I know it, so it works in my favor. Moose

Yeah I have a BOB with me in the car but just considering the need to have a PSK on my body at all times. I carry on me my phone, flashlight, lighter, Emerson, and a survival bracelet. For the most part this will handle any daily items I need to take care of and like you Moose the BOB is pretty close.

Semper, If you get the wallet from ESEE do you plan to carry it on a belt or in a pocket?

Yeah I should mention that I have a "get home bag" or small BOB near me 99% of the time and a big BOB at the house.

The more time I spend outdoors and practice my skills, the less items I feel I need to carry on me all the time. You can do almost anything with a just a knife and paracord.

i've been carrying an altoids tin in RFP, and my izula. got a bit of an urban survival kit on my keychain. small knife, bottle opener, p-38, and s&w handcuff key. paracord bootlaces round out the EDC survival kit. used a bootlace the other day to cut myself out of zipties... fun times at work.

Here is a pic of my EDC ,plus I carry the Izula firesteel and a streamlight microstream LED light and a Zippo on belt

I carry my laptop computer in a backpack, so I also have several feet of paracord (not clever enough to make a bracelet or anything else out of it yet), a knife (currently a Lone Wolf Trailmate), and a Leatherman Wave. I also have a small first-aid kit, Ibuprofen, Benadryl, a Surefire LED light and a pocket-sized Bible. I also have a hand-held Ham radio transceiver.

I ordered an Izula which may or may not go in this pack. I have a survival kit for outdoor adventures, that it may suit better. That kit has a heavy duty first-aid-kit, fire starting supplies, a signal mirror, fishing line, hooks, a baseplate compass, more paracord, a strip or orange surveyor tape, and a few other odds and ends.

my EDC is a Glock 19, spare mag, keys with a leatherman micra and some photon lights, plus a BSA hot spark, cell phone, ZT 0200, SAK, and Leatherman. plus my wallet. shopping for a new AA powered EDC light.

does my truck count as a "metal can"? there's more gear in the truck. :D

almost all i wear are 5.11 cargo pants. it's very rare that i wear jeans or chinos, even rarer that i wear slacks.

planning on getting a Max Janus pouch (or something like that) for wearing a PSK on my belt, but that won't be EDC.

I have a leatherman PST and firesteel (from Izula kit) in a belt pouch, izzy in pocket.

My keychain has a houdini escape tool, innova LED light, leatherman micra

I usually have my EDC bag (Maxped Versipack Jumbo) with good array of stuff in it - too long to list.

I used to wear a paracord survival bracelet, but stopped lately, as my wrist was bothering me (was too tight, need to make another - I keep giving mine away to friends!)

My PSK is my keychain which contains a peanut lighter, maratac aaa flashlight, and SAK classic knife.
I figure that along with my neck knife, pocket knife, and pistol cover quite a bit. I have a lot more in my day pack but it may sometimes stay in the car, shop or house.
I've been thinking lately about keeping a bandana in a pocket also since they have so many uses.

I have a Duluth trading "working man's vest" with pockets full of stuff.

tagged to see where thread goes..

I just altered one of my Izula sheaths, just started whittling. I've been carrying it as a necker and I must say I dig it.. I plan to RB a PSK on it, I'd like to personally see some pics of a necker psk.. other then the chain version..

Thanks for all the great replies. It has given me some Ideas to think about.

1066VIK, does the vest you wear look like a shoot me first vest? Similar to a 5:11 vest are is pretty street looking?

Hoopster, I have been considering carrying a bandana as well but didn't really want to look like a biker guy or gangbanger with it hanging out of my back pocket. Although it might make me look less militant.

Fixer, I also have a few 5:11 cargos that I wear. The problem I have with them is the extremely deep pockets in the back and the not very big thigh cargo pockets. I have tried to carry some gear in those pockets but find that with them being very skinny that is tends to drive whatever is in there into my leg.

Bandanna carry is easy - fold it into quarters and it slips into a pocket without sticking out. People still carry handkerchiefs, too, so if you get one that is pretty "gray man" looking you won't attract too much attention.

I have a couple pairs of 5.11 TacLite Pros that I even wear to work with a polo shirt - not terribly tactical (just a bit "outdoors-ey") looking. Most of my stuff is in my go-bag in the car, though. Something like the ESEE wallet kit or AMS pocket survival kit (or similar design/shape/weight) could easily be carried without looking like you're going on an expedition.

Dustin,

That's a pretty cool tool! The reason I asked is, Houdini once remarked that the best pick for handcuffs was a hidden key. :)
