I came up with a belt carry mode for a PSk knife or similar size knife and a mini kit. The knife slips in the back and the kit rides in the front with a button stop at the bottom of the sheath.

Looks nice but I would want the "tin" more secured. A single strap up from the bottom to the middle strap would do the trick

Scott,

Really cool! Can you make one with beer holder too!!!

It could be done. Actually a pack of Marlboros fit in this one. :D
Not sure of the cost yet. I'm going to take it on the winter trip to PA. in a couple of weeks to try it out.

I like the fact that although the fixed blade isn't concealed, it sure doesn't look very much like a knife either.

That's a really great looking kit, definitely won't find yourself in too bad a situation when out and about with that on your belt.

I'm trying to make it so it's not too time consuming. The biggest problem is attaching the strap to hold the tin. The one side is easy, the other side is a PIA. I made another today with the strap riveted. Not any faster. I think I need to use thinner leather for the strap.

How about making it a pouch with out a tin? it could be the same size and hold the same gear.

Hey Scott, how about sewing that outer leather cover to a piece of heavy duty (scuba?) elastic which could come up the sides a little? It would help stretch a little, still keep good retention with the leather-on-tin on the front and probably a little easier to fabricate and repair???? Not too mention you wouldn't have to have prefect measurements for fitting.

Are you still selling those knives? Highly rcommended, sharp as the dickens and handy,
at an amazing price.

I love this set up. And the knife. What if you used a small buckle or some grommets and chort on the front to allow for larger or smalletr tins. This also might make it easier to attach as it would be two pieces.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'm going to refine this idea. The way it is works great so far but I'd like to try some of the other suggestions.

Haha, that is so freakin' cool. The matching firesteel and companion blade are a perfect match. I don't have a Kephart style blade, but that's a really good looking one.
