I don't carry fishing line in mine because here in the desert southwest, wherever there is water with fish there are people and a road not far away. But I am a fly fishing nut and use a lot of tippet line. It comes on very small flat spools, is stronger than regular monofilament for the diameter and is very high in quality control. If you are trying to catch trout for sustenance, they are extermely line (leader) shy. Six lb test (4X or .007") is about max unless it is 'way north' in wilderness where they never see people. The 30 yd. spools usually have a recessed back where small hooks could be taped inside to make an effective self- contained fishing kit. Just a thought for those who may be interested.:) Regards, ss.

Actually, a fishing kit has a lot of other uses, besides fishing. It can be used to secure shelter, using the hooks to secure the tie down points at times. It can be used for small birds, lizzards, snakes, small animals, etc. Plus, if you throw a needle in with it, you've got a sewing kit.
