PSK thickness

So, just bored and wandering the internet and daydreaming about all the blades I would love to have, and I started wondering about a simple PSK.

It looks like the standard thickness for one is 1/8th...have you ever done one in 3/16s? How well would one cut at 3/16th's? That is to say how much cutting ability is one giving up considering the blade is 1 inch wide. Can the 1/8th handle some decent batonning?

I'm guessing the 3/16th's is overkill considering this is kind of considered a last ditch knife anyway and one would hardly expect it to be optimal for everything you might need.

Anyway, just curious and I saw the forum was slow so thought I would ask.

Collin, the 1/8" is standard but I have made them up to 1/4" thick. Anytime you go thicker you will loose slicing ability but not necessarily cutting ability.

I would like to see a spine pic of a 1/4" one!

I only made one in that thickness. I've made PSK knives in D2, A2, O1, CPM 154 and CPM S35VN. I've made over 700 of them since 2006.

Nothing exotic, desert ironwood a few times.
