Hey all,

I'm giving away my Imperial Kamp King today. Only rules are you have to post a picture of a knife with a patina. :)

Random winner. All members welcome, and this ends Friday.

I can clean the rust and patina off of it if you want.

Go.

To me, my most valuable knife. Belonged to one of my grandfathers in the last third of his life. Springs and blades now black.

If I were going to keep it, the patina would stay forever haha. :D

I just gave the option in case someone wanted to add their own character :)

Well anyway, here's the patina I just forced on my Otter Messer Anchor knife, or "Ankermesser".

I stuck it in an apple for a while, then periodically took it out and placed it back in.

Afterwards, a wipe down with a dry paper towel to remove pieces of said apple, then some water on the blade and another paper towel wipe down so dat carbon steel doesn't rust!

I know the patina isn't that great looking, but hey don't judge me :o

By the way, folks, chatter in this thread is allowed and encouraged!

I'm new to these forums, and thanks to them I've been looking at more traditional knives...Awesome stuff! I don't have a traditional knife but good luck to everyone :)

Great GAW! Thanks for the opportunity. As circumstances would have it, I have been looking for a Kamp King or similar pattern by another mfg. If by some miracle I win, don't remove the patina. That is partly why it is such a cool knife. :)

I have a lot of my grandpa's Imperial Schrade knives...all stainless. I'd definitely be interested in seeing a carbon model.

Here's my favorite knife, a GEC Powderhorn Jack.

Yella CV medium stockman that my grandpa left me. Such a classic combination. photobucket.com/user/J_Bouldin/media/DSCN2890.jpg.html]

Great idea for a GAW; this Imperial EO from WW-II has the best patina of any of my knives. OH

Off Topic: I was given one of those when I was just a boy. I found it again a couple months ago but I CAN'T FIND IT THIS MORNING!!! I remember the last time I saw it thinking: "That might be a good knife." So what have I done with it??? Surely I have gotten rid of it? I never get rid of a knife.
