Psst, want an Imperial?

Thanks!
Tried to pickle peppers for the first time from my garden. I feel as if I screwed up. The banana peppers and chilis looked cooked. There must be a cold pickling process somewhere that can preserve a fresh veggie in its just picked state!

Grampa's Barlow that I inherited.

We looked for it for about 21 years. My dad finally found it when my grandma finally moved into an assisted living facility at 97 years old!

You know, I love that little curve above the tang a well used knife develops. It says someone really loved and used the knife.

Thanks for the chance at a cool pattern that I haven't owned since I was a kid.

Thanks for the chance - no entry for me though - since I´ve won a Kamp King about a year ago from another GA from a very nice member here.

Just wanted to thank you for your contribution to the forums. Good luck to anyone and the winner on this great pattern!

Swmbo recently bought me this. Since I haven't been home in over a year I haven't seen it yet. I hope that's a patina.:D

I said I would run this until Friday, but nah. I'll keep it going for a while longer, I feel as though there isn't too much interest. Come on people, free knife!

You're right ! Want patina ? What's better than a knife that has patina all over, blade AND handle ? Earned patina with that… One of my ever favourites, the Douk-Douk. Giant version, please. Too honking big to EDC (the medium is perfect for that) but i used it in the house for everything, over 20 years of faithfull service. Washed in the sink, scrubbed with the ScotchBrite pad, dried and oiled... but no more than three or four times. Gave it a go on the Lansky just for fun : it shaves hair like a breeze. Spring is still strong and despite patina, some gunk and slight pitting, there is no rust at all. Detected some lateral play, hammered the bold pivot pin : rock solid again and smooth as silk in the hand. Great knife !

Not an entry but I wish to see this patina thing going on because I see nice knives and it reminds me of all the trustfull users I had that have been lost, gifted, broken or scrapped... Here is a current one that "earned" his patina lying forgotten in a drawer for over 20 years before it was gifted to me. I cleaned it and used it during several summer barbecues to dress up meat and vegetables. Small but very sharp and handy. A pleasure. I'm not a fan of the vendetta pattern but I love how this one looks more like a peasant knife than a fighter.

Man I almost forgot about this thread! The winner will be chosen next weekend, not this one coming up. I'm a bit busy this weekend. Should give more people time to enter! The more the merrier! :)

Would it be alright if I posted a picture with photobucket? Would that count?

That's the only way to do it as far as i'm concerned!

Way cool. I recently found a barlow just like this along with a Case Whaler, a Western 422 and dozen's of other slipjoints at an antique shop in Virginia. (Case, Buck, Western, Camillus).

I would've bought my heart out with Case and Buck, but the prices they were charging for those were out the door expensive. So I chose the two Westerns and the Whaler which were pretty cheap and made out of there like a bandit. Sorry for the ramble. I'm happy about my score. :D

Thanks for the contest. Heres 3 I have found over the years hunting. Cleaned them the best I could and sharpened them up. Still make a decent EDC.

I like Imperials, but I've had a lot of kindness lately, so not an entry. Thanks though, and good luck to everyone :)

Still open, everyone! Come on, free knife up for grabs here! :)
