I need to apologise publicly for something I said in the advanced kith thread. I did not know what I had said and it just came out as I was writing the OP. Then last night I was able to sit down and watch forged in fire s5e0. About 5 min I realised what I had done. My wife was laughing at me telling me it’s ok you did not know. But I must insist on a apology. I had made a statement about heat treating and that billy bobs backyard yard bbq heat treat was not acceptable. Well on forged in fire there was infact a MS who goes by billy bob. I felt really bad, I was not meaning any disrespect to him at all. And in my defence I did not know about him befor last night. So I would just like to put this out there and let you know I’m not a douche bag.

I can’t speak for Billy Bob but I don't think he’ll be offended. People just call him BB because of his southern accent. He’s a fun guy to hang with and talk to.

I called him after the show and we talked for half an hour or so.

He told me he didn't even test his final blade before the last round because he was so confident in his heat treat.

He’ll probably laugh about this.

He is a very good knife maker and person.

Great show that one was. He doesn’t seem the type to take offense. Nice of you to apologize, even if you meant nothing personally. Speaks a lot about your character.
 
I thought you were taking about Varsity Blues......

No offense taken..Billybob was the name they put on me when i worked for railroad..I have never tried to bbq in salt tanks
but i may try lol..i apriciate your thinking you owe me an apology but none needed,,

Thank you,,,any one of us could have won,,it was just my day,,,you know them some days you can't do anything wrong
in the shop the next day NOTHING goes right,, i'm was proud of my Rhomphaia sword,,it performed well..my mentors
such as Don Fogg and Jim Batson, and many many more taught me well..i owe any success that i have had to my mentors..

I'll tell you what...that was a damn sharp blade you built. Would have cut a fellow in half on the battlefield. Nice watching you work.

Yes it was and congrats BB, just watched it last night. Lots of Bubba s around here.

Yes that was very impressive. Especially considering all the blades that have failed at that test. Not just in cutting the pig but actually staying in one piece.
