Obligatory: F*ck clones. Do not buy clones. Do not ask me for links I will NOT give them to you

I heard rumblings about a K2 clone incoming and unfortunately that rumor was true. Some of this new batch is scary accurate.... And I have seen a couple in the wild now. Had not seen some previously
As always the listings have the locks and logos photoshopped out, so those will not serve as any indication.

Keep on the lookout guys, more and more fakes to avoid every day it feels like. So here's a thread for attention with this large batch of new (to me at least) ones.

That looks like a UKPK instead of the Caly.

Hate to see clones, and the scary part is they are getting quite good with it......

The Tenacious is already made in china, and now so is the fake. My question, is the fake being made at the same factory? That Tenacious looks too well done to not be coming out of the same factory:confused:

To the best of my knowledge the fake has an entirely different liner layout etc. which is kind of bizarre

So they edit the locks out of the picture? Why? It looks like they might be getting better at immitating the jimping too. They have that steplike quality that the fakes never used to have. Atleast as I can best tell from those blurry photos. The K2 looks like it has no jimping.

I think the factory owners would know that would be a great way to lose a lucrative US contract. I could be wrong but I think the risk would be too high.

Counterfeiting also hurts the reputation of all local legit manufacturers as well.

They edit the locks out because locking blades are illegal where they manufacture them. If the counterfeiters are unafraid to break the laws of their own land, they'll never hesitate to continue to break ours.

doesn't matter since these will be all over amazon in no time. bad for us all.

scary what they are doing won't be long, at this rate, before no one can tell the difference not even spyderco without testing materials.

I would fall for them If/when they hit the U.S.
Market...

They look like the real deal.

Is this the first report of FRN fakes? I thought the FRN manufacturing process was too expensive for the fake manufacturers.

Hi, Sheepborg:
Thank you for looking out for everyone. Would you be willing to send me a PM with links to these? Links can be very helpful for us.

Thanks again!

Kristi

instead of passing new knife laws, they should outlaw and band these copy's/clones from entering the USA.

I always buy from a known dealer.

I'll also admit I WISH the YO2 had a Thumb hole as large as the one on the fake!

This frustrates me from an ethical standpoint, and as a consumer. But imagine if it was YOUR lifelong business was being ripped off.

Grrrr...

one of the worst parts of fakes from a consumer standpoint is in the old days they were obvious and you paid low low bucks. now dirtbag hustlers are buying these and flipping them as real at high bucks.
