PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT... Revised RULES For The EXCHANGE In Effect - 10/30/10

If you remember the option of editting your original post to deal with queries or to confirm a knife is "SPF to xxxx" when they say "I will take it" instead of doing new posts it is'nt too bad ....

The price alterations can be done by edit as well .... rather than a "bump" .... it should mean that threads stay current longer ....

I think many of us will be looking with interest to see how the large sellers who may be ranked as dealers will sort out things if they have to post in the dealer section and not the individual section .... that would slow down losing your post to page 2 and beyond quite a bit ....

Thanks for posting this here Jaxx .... I would'nt have picked up on it quite as easily otherwise ....

Its always interesting to see how new rules work themselves out.

Their boards - their rules

.

Seems that a lot of folks still have yet to familiarize themselves with the newly revised rules for the X... So this gets a bump as I don't want to see my fellow HOGs get smacked for rules violations... :)

Read 'em, Learn 'em, Live 'em, folks!

Thanks for spending the time to alert us. I have not listed anything for sale, yet, but it is nice to have a refresher just in case!

Warnings will be handed out first, but please read the new rules. We'd prefer not to hand out warnings/infractions but we will if necessary.

The new rules should really help and your FS posts should be more visible without all the clutter.

All mods have been very lenient up to this point giving everyone time to read the rules, I think that will probably end now.
I'll be actively watching the Busse for sale forums for offenders, please follow the rules.

Up again...
Check those revised rules, folks, 'cause I believe that the grace period will be ending really soon and I don't want y'all to be getting infracted when it can be easily avoided!!! :):)

A quick clarification...

If we get a direct question from a potential buyer who is new to the forums in one of our threads and the potential buyer does not have PM or email as contact options when you click on their name. There's no other way to get in touch with that person to answer their question other than a quick reply in the sales thread. For instance, I had a new forum member ask a direct question about one of my knives and there was no way to answer privately.

What say the mods? :)

This question should've been posted in the proper thread in the Service & Support Forum.

They say the rules clearly state not to reply in the thread. You should edit your reply to him into the original post. If a person is buying, he should have enough sense to enable his contact info, if not, then perhaps that particular sale was not meant to be.

Some don't enable email, but everyone can now be contacted by PM. Registered Users cannot reply by PM, though.

But EVERYBODY has Visitor Messages, and like PMs, Visitor Messages alert you with a notice in your header. Visitor Message are more convenient than PMs because they turn each conversation into a mini-thread, no Inbox/Sent that quickly clogs up your PM capacity.

Sorry about that.

everyone can now be contacted by PM

That's good to know. I clicked on their name and there was no PM or email option so I'm guessing that I can send a PM via "send new private message" accessed by clicking into my personal PM mailbox. I'll do that next time.

But EVERYBODY has Visitor Messages, and like PMs, Visitor Messages alert you with a notice in your header

Also good to know. I didn't realize you got an alert in your header for Visitor Messages.

Thanks for the clarification!

Ha! Just went back and saw that I wasn't supposed to make comments. :o That's what I get for only reading the second page before I post.

Sorry about that Jaxx. Didn't mean to mess up your thread. Thanks for bringing the changes to our attention.
