I finally did it. You guys kind of sent me over the edge on this knife last week when I was asking about it. I ordered the plain satin blade. The worst part is now I have to wait. I ordered from knifesupply, are they fast? Thanks for the help.

Congrats. I've got one on the way too. No matter how fast they are, it's not fast enough;)

I am holding my Para right now, it's feels so good in the hand

Now I am flicking it open, it's so smooth

Don't you wish you had yours right now muhahahaa:D

j/k

here's a pic to hold you over

I have to do it - the Para is the one Spyderco I like from "a distance" because I haven't purchased one yet. I've hemmed and hawed a lot though . . .

I'm infatuated with the para but I can't get over how the blade tang sticks out when it's closed. Why couldn't it be smooth like on the Caly 3 or Military?

Just look at it when its open then :p:thumbup:

It does look a bit "unfinished" when its closed but its a small niggle when you consider how good a knife the Para is

Yeah, that's a bummer for me as well. I have a para, love it, carry it, use it, but that sharp edge always rubs me the wrong way whenever I reach in my pocket. Not so with the models you mentioned and certainly not the case with my Sage.

I'd love to get one, but hesitate because of the right hand only clip. How hard can it be to drill some holes on the other side so that it is left-hand friendly?

You can smooth the tang quite a bit since the compression lock engages about 1/8th of an inch in the handle. Once you get it you can really see what I mean. My D2 para kept catching my hand when I put it in my pcoket but a few passes on a sander and it's perfect now....Still sticks out but the lines are improved and no hand snags.

The handle looks like it'd tear your hand up, so I'll probably grind mine every so slightly.

I don't know if they have dual nested liners on the Para, but they can't swap the clip because the clip is curved with the knife. They'd have to send two clips (which would be great! *hint hint*)

I love my millies, but whenever I pull them out I'm reminded how big it is. I think I'm going to have to grab a D2 para. Anyone have a D2 millie laying around? :D
